ROYAL FAMILY KIDS CAMP

Changing Lives. Transforming Communities. For the Children.

WWD_0412.NEF

When a kid goes to RFK Camp

they receive the attention and encouragement of an adult camp counselor and his/her “buddy camper”. In addition, each camper is also exposed to a variety of fun activities, designed for their success and to build self-esteem. For most of these children, it’s the best week of the year – a special time when they can focus on having fun and enjoy being a kid.

Chapter Directors and volunteers go through intensive training, including a study of the dynamics of child abuse and neglect. We use an intensive screening process for all volunteers and staff. We operate with a strict ratio of two children per volunteer, though with a “back-up” volunteer for each counselor, the actual staff-to-camper ratio is often one to one.

There are strict policies for behavior for campers, volunteers and staff to ensure child protection. While the campsite itself has been selected to provide a safe, fun place for the camp experience.
